Becoming an Instructor

Jazz
radKIDS® is an ideal addition to the children's safety initiative of any caring community.

If you are a law enforcement officer, teacher, recreation professional, sexual assault counselor, or concerned parent with a strong commitment to the children in your community, radKIDS® welcomes you to apply for registration in one of our upcoming Instructor Certification Programs.

Instructor Program Description

The radKIDS® Instructor Program is a three-day certification course detailing our core curriculum. Candidates will receive Fingerprinting information on teaching children about school safety, home safety, out-and-about safety, vehicle safety, strangers and tricks (including physical defense skills), and personal safety (including good, bad, and uncomfortable touch).

In addition to the core curriculum, the Instructor Program addresses the handling of realistic defense against abduction, disclosures, decreasing program liability, and getting your program started.

Upon successful completion of the Program, Instructors are provided with the following:

  • Instructor's Manual
  • Master copies of the Parent's and KIDS' Manuals
  • Program Syllabi
  • Instructor Forms
  • Subscription to the KIDS Khronicle, our Instructor Newsletter
  • A copy of "Sam's Secret"
  • Support from the fastest growing self-defense network for women and children

Instructor Program Requirements

The radKIDS® Instructor program is open to any concerned and caring child education professional. This includes, but is not limited to teachers, police officers (school resource officers), recreation professionals, and concerned parents. All Instructor Candidates are subject to a background check.

Upon completion of the program, the participants are certified to teach the radKIDS® Personal Empowerment and Safety Education Program. The course is taught in a relaxed environment which is conducive to learning tested instructional techniques, proven tactics, and unique insight about the problem of violence against children. The program covers all aspects of safety, from awareness and risk reduction, to state-of-the-art simulation training exercises.

The radKIDS® organization is dedicated to the facilitation and continual education process of certified Instructors. Each Instructor receives a semi-annual newsletter with updates and continual educational resources.

radKIDS®, Inc. is proud to be the national headquarters of a very dedicated and professional alliance of certified Instructors. All Instructors are members of radKIDS®, Inc. and are required to honor each others' students; as all children who attend the program may return to the program free of charge until their 12th birthday. radKIDS®, Inc. not only believes it is our responsibility to educate children, but in addition, to provide them with an opportunity to continually learn and enrich their positive choices.

The radKIDS® organization firmly believes every child is entitled to a realistic and empowering safety education. It is the right of every child in our country to have real choices and options to some of the realities of violence in our society. The only way for this to occur is through education. As a child, you only know what you are able to observe and learn. radKIDS® is successfully providing choices to both children and parents in various communities across the country.
